After having used countless probiotic supplements, enzyme formulations as well as probiotic and enzyme blends including prebiotics for over twenty five years in his clinical practice in Australia and New Zealand, Eric Bakker decided the time was right to formulate the highest-quality yeast balance products to his own exacting standards, dietary supplements that are not only highly effective, but also clinically studied.
Dr. Bakker’s product CanXida Remove was launched in 2013 and is the most potent and complete sustained release anti-fungal candida supplement currently available on the Internet. CanXida Remove has proven to be very popular, it is a highly effective product that also targets bad bacteria (SIBO, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) in addition to various parasites such as blastocystis hominis, citrobacter freundii, dientamoeba fragilis, entamoeba histolytica, giardia lamblia as well as cryptosporidium. Repeated CDSA testing (Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis testing) before and after taking CanXida Remove has confirmed the clinical efficacy of this potent broad-spectrum formulation.
The second product created in the CanXida product range is CanXida Restore, a Candida cleanse formula that is a revolutionary blend of probiotics, systemic enzymes as well as digestive enzymes especially formulated to help maintain a proper balance of intestinal micro flora, inhibit pathogenic bacteria and parasites and prevent the overgrowth of yeast organisms, particularly the various Candida species. The enzymes in this CanXida Restore were added to improve digestion, allow more efficient breakdown and absorption of nutrients from foods as well as reduce any digestive symptoms commonly experienced by those with Candida such as bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome complaints in general.
CanXida Restore is a unique yeast-cleansing formulation and designed by Eric Bakker after almost three decades of clinical naturopathic gastroenterology experience. This formula contains the seven best enzymes as well as the six best probiotic strains for those with candida overgrowth, SIBO, as well as many other digestive system complaints such as gas, bloating, constipation, dysbiosis, diarrhoea, food allergies, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Psoriasis and acne rosacea patients will also benefit from CanXida Restore as research has revealed that as many as 75 percent of patients with these conditions also suffer from Candida and SIBO infections.
CanXida Restore was formulated after using countless dietary supplement formulations in Eric Bakker’s clinic with results ranging from very poor to average at best. Candida cannot readily become resistant to CanXida Restore because of the compound effect of this highly effective formula built around a patented bile and acid-resistant capsule, containing the most therapeutically active and clinically-proven enzymes and probiotic strains currently known for not only for candidiasis, but for SIBO as well.
Candida Restore is powerful, yet is a gentle yeast cleanse that optimizes the intestinal microbial balance. This premium formula assists in supporting a healthy balance of intestinal flora where yeast, bacterial or parasite overgrowth is present. Those who experience regular and recurrent constipation, diarrhea, food allergies or intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome, and even inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s) will benefit significantly from this formula as well.
CanXida Restore was manufactured using a unique and proprietary blend of the highest quality systemic enzymes that help speed recovery by reducing inflammation as well as circulating immune toxins (endotoxins such as dead yeast and bacterial cells, etc.) that can cause symptoms to aggravate as well as candida die-off symptoms.
Avoid Candida Supplements Containing Prebiotics, Here’s Why…
CanXida restore does not contain any prebiotics for a good reason. There are different studies 1,2 that have shown that prebiotics such as inulin and FOS can stimulate the production of various pathogenic bacteria and even yeasts like Candida albicans. Clinical research conducted by naturopathic expert Eric Bakker has uncovered that patients with Candida infections and especially SIBO can in fact be highly sensitive to dietary supplements containing added prebiotic sugars and may experience aggravations ranging from mild to severe when taking any products containing them.
In Dr. Bakker’s clinical experience, added prebiotics have been shown to cause different kinds of problems for people with Candida yeast infections and SIBO who are on specific diets such as the SCD, GAPS, FODMAP or various types of gluten-free diets. The benefits of modified carbohydrate diets occur at the cellular level controlling bacteria, but when prebiotic sugars from supplements are added to such diets any aggravations that occur will often be falsely viewed as ‘die-off’ reactions.
Inulin or FOS (when supplied in a dietary supplement) may indeed promote the growth of lactobacillus bacteria, but other potentially harmful bacteria may also be benefiting at the same time. Prebiotics should (theoretically speaking) only feed the helpful and beneficial bacteria, but a secret that dietary supplement manufacturers won’t disclose to you is that prebiotics can also be used as food by disease-producing bacteria as well as Candida.
Many With Candida And SIBO Don’t Do Well On Pre-Biotics
Many people who have a Candida yeast infection also have SIBO, in fact, without comprehensive stool testing it can be difficult to distinguish between them because the signs and symptoms of SIBO and Candida infections can be similar. Dr. Bakker is cautious of Breath Testing (for methane and/or hydrogen) because in his experience too many ‘false negative’ results can occur, it is his belief that only comprehensive stool testing through a high quality specialty lab will be much more likely to reveal the true nature of a patient’s digestive disturbances.
There are a few telltale SIBO signs and symptoms however.
- Are you the kind of person who is very sensitive to many different kinds of foods, perhaps have multiple food allergies or sensitivities?
- Are you a celiac who is feeling worse after going gluten-free?
- Do you feel that your constipation has become worse when you add fiber to your diet?
- Have you been on one or more rounds of antibiotics and feel that your health has never been well since?
- Do you feel that you digestive symptoms may have even improved after an antibiotic?
- Do you suffer with crazy amounts of gas or bloating after changing your diet for the better?
- Do you have a low ferritin count (iron storage protein, blood test) that remains a mystery? Certain SIBO bacteria in fact feed on iron, making you tired and anemic and your doctor remains mystified.
- Do you feel that after your Candida yeast infection cleared up you still felt unwell and wondered when you were ever going to fully recover?
If you feel worse after a probiotic, be sure to carefully check to see if it does not contain any kind of pre-biotic, because you may have SIBO, an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine is not uncommon along with a chronic Candida infection.
The makers of candida products make claims such as ‘FOS and inulin feed only beneficial bacteria’, when in fact this this is a scientifically inaccurate statement. Further studies1 have also revealed that added prebiotic sugars actually encourage increased leaky gut syndrome (intestinal permeability) as well as the growth of different kinds of bacteria, such as Klebsiella; bacteria implicated in the autoimmune disease Ankylosing spondylitis. Although Klebsiella is present in the large intestine of majority of the population, like candida, it is harmless in those with a healthy digestive system. Klebsiella activity in the intestinal tract is carefully controlled and kept in check by the beneficial bacteria, but once it gets to other areas of the body like the urinary system, the prostate (prostatitis), lungs (pneumonia), the blood stream (poor wound healing), it can becomes a major cause of serious infection, and even chronic illness. Secondly, many different kinds of yeast are able to use inulin/FOS for energy and food, including Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, and more.
Beware: Other Probiotic Products Contain Pre-Biotics
It is important for you as a consumer to be aware that there are several candida formulations that contain enzymes and probiotics in addition to the “pre” biotics such as fructo-oligo-saccharides (FOS) or inulin (from chicory root). Two commonly available products include Syntol and Three Lac.
The potential outcome for a person with Candida or SIBO who uses any dietary supplement containing FOS or inulin can result in an overall worsening of any of their complaints such as gas, bloating, digestive aches or pains, constipation or diarrhea, bad breath, dull headaches, fatigue, and even joint, muscle pain and even brain fog.
The bottom line is that the absence of any prebiotic sugars in CanXida Restore ensure that this formula is more gentle and significantly more effective clinically, reducing the likelihood of adverse reactions and improving your outcome as a patient.
But What About Prebiotic Foods?
If dietary supplements containing prebiotics such as fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and inulin are discouraged, what about foods containing these oligosaccharide sugars, aren’t they bad for you? No they are not, unlike the prebiotics in dietary supplements, these food sources of prebiotics don’t contain any processed prebiotic sugars. They also contain different kinds of soluble and insoluble fibers, flavonoids and many other nutritional contingent factors than the man-made prebiotic sugars and therefore don’t necessarily have the same powerful effects with many people who have SIBO or Candida yeast infections.
In some cases however, even the prebiotic foods containing high levels of sugars like FOS and inulin have the potential to aggravate those with SIBO or chronic Candida. If you aggravate in any way when you consume foods high in FOS or inulin it is best that these foods are either introduced very slowly or even avoided altogether until the Candida or SIBO infection is under control using a highly effective product such as CanXida Remove.
Eric Bakker encourages those who want prebiotics to consume specific vegetables and other whole foods that contain FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) and GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides) such as carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, brown rice, legumes, sprouts, green tea, rye sour dough, etc. Here is a more complete list of foods that contain prebiotics, why waste your money on dietary supplements that contain them when you could be eating them and benefit so much more?
Your Best Food Sources Of Pre-Biotic Sugars
There are many different food sources that contain FOS, GOS, and inulin, but they are found in high levels in particular in the following foods:
- Jerusalem artichokes, burdock roots, chicory roots, and dandelion roots.
- Garlic, onions, leeks, shallots, spring onions.
- Asparagus, globe artichoke, beetroot, green beans.
- Green (plantain) bananas, raw cacao, green tea.
- Brassica family – cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale (don’t eat raw!), kohlrabi, Chinese vegetables (Bok Choy, Choy Sum, etc.).
- Legumes: adzuki beans, pinto beans, navy beans, Mung beans, etc.
- Rye sourdough bread (if gluten is tolerated), oats.
- Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chestnuts, hazel nuts, pecan nuts.
Important – The Probiotics In CanXida Restore Are…
Probiotics are a very important dietary supplement for those with Candida overgrowth. Probiotics are also known as the ‘friendly’ bacteria, because they positively affect the balance of the intestinal micro-flora, promote good digestion, support a powerful immune response as well as promote normal and balanced levels of healthy bacteria and yeasts.
Those who have healthy and balanced colonies of different species of beneficial bacteria in their digestive system are considerably more likely to fight any overgrowth of harmful microorganisms than those with poor or imbalanced levels. The inclusion of cultured and fermented foods, FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) and GOS (galacto-oligo-saccharides) foods, along with the regular intake of a supplement such as CanXida Restore will essentially crowd out the bad bacteria and yeast overgrowth throughout the digestive tract, allowing the digestion to normalize. We recommend that our customers consume FOOD ( and not supplement) sources of prebiotic sugars rather than take FOS, GOS or inulin sugars with their probiotic formulations. These prebiotic sugars are often included in many probiotic formulations today but unfortunately have the potential to aggravate those with SIBO and Candida.
Have you noticed that ‘spore-based’ probiotics is the current probiotic buzz word today? The big problem that many brands now face is in the marketing of probiotics, how can you compete in a crowded online market place? One way to do this is to create gimmicks and fads, and that is what spore-based probiotics have become. Many people are now confused and believe that spore-based probiotics are in some way superior to conventional probiotics such as Lactobacillus acidophilus. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I’ll bet you’ve never been told by these companies about the actual risks and dangers of soil-based probiotics either, otherwise known as “spore-forming” probiotics. Just like agents FOS (also known as ‘pre’-biotics), which have the potential to easily aggravate all too many people with acute or chronic digestive issues, let me enlighten you a little as to the downside and explain to you why spore-based probiotics aren’t a “probiotic panacea” by any means.
Despite the significant benefits that probiotics can bring, it is important to understand that not all probiotic bacteria can reliably, consistently, and most important, safely, give you positive outcomes to the many health issues many face today. Unsafe sources of bacteria that make up some dietary supplements can at the least be a waste of money, have little therapeutic benefit and at their worst can flare up existing symptoms and even make you sick, all without you realising that the probiotic you have been taking was the cause.
I have discovered that some medical or naturopathic practitioners will inform their patients that these reactions are “die-off” and merely occur as a consequence of the “good fighting the bad bacteria” or the release of “toxins” from dead or dying yeast and bacteria. To may matters worse, some people who buy these types of probiotics online may even be clueless as to the cause of their probiotic-induced aggravations, and may also inadvertently point their finger at “die-off reactions”.
As I’ve mentioned before in several of my videos, you will also discover that die-off (or Herxheimer reactions) are also often blamed falsely to be the culprit with many people who have been taking probiotics that include the sugar FOS, this occurs many more times than you realize, something I witnessed time and again in my clinical practice since the early 90s, when prebiotics were the “next best thing”, just like the soil-based probiotics of today.
Soil-based probiotics are often promoted as “spore-forming” probiotics, but these bacteria have concerned me for some time. I used to recommend them (like the prebiotic sugar called FOS) but stopped, because I have witnessed clinically their potential with many patients to create more harm than good. When you first think of the concept “soil-based”, the first thing that springs to mind is “healthy” or “organic”, it is easy to make the assumption that whatever comes from soil has to be healthy, but this is indeed a dangerous assumption to make.
Doesn’t it make more sense to take a probiotic that has been studied scientifically and clinically proven for many decades? This is why CanXida Restore contains amongst other proven strains, Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1, a proven and seriously well-researched probiotic that was discovered in 1959 by Dr. Khem Shahani. Dr. Shahani is widely considered to be a pioneer in probiotic research and development. Dr. Shahani likely knew that rod-shaped bacteria (normal probiotic strains such as Lactobacillus) were the most prominent beneficial bacteria in the gut, as opposed to other bacterial species.
We take health seriously at CanXida Health, and if we believed that soil-based probiotics were superior and clinically proven to significantly improve our customer’s outcomes then we have included them into our formula, but this is not the case. We exercise caution when it comes to taking probiotics, particularly when it comes to unknown strains and cocktails of up to two dozen or more bacterial strains.
Unlike most probiotics, particularly the most researched strains that we use in CanXida Restore, spore-based probiotics have no long-term (50+ years) health records with the general population, and scant if any clinical research. These bacteria belong in the ground, not in the human microbiome. Introducing novel and unique bacterial strains in the gut can potentially cause many health issues, and in addition crowd out space for the many bacteria already present. Why would you take the risk?
Shelf-Stable and No Refrigeration Required
CanXida Restore contains 18 billion CFUs (colony forming units) of various strains of beneficial bacteria per serving that have a number of features and benefits you simply won’t find in any other product of its kind. What makes this product stand out is its ability to remain shelf-stable for long periods of time when kept at a stable room temperature. Unlike similar products, CanXida Restore does not contain freeze-dried probiotics that need constant refrigeration.
You can read a lot more about how probiotics work and more information about why Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 was chosen for CanXida Restore on this link.
Why Specialty Enzymes Make A Real Difference In Candida…
In addition to containing the best probiotic strains, CanXida Restore also contains several of the best enzymes including:
- Protein-digesting enzymes that help to breakdown the protective protein coating around yeasts and begin to digest their cellular infrastructure. This weakens Candida allowing the immune system to gain the upper hand. Protease enzymes also improve the environment of the upper digestive system by lowering the pH, making it more difficult for Candida to thrive. Protein-digesting enzymes also help reduce symptoms of heartburn and any reflux that some people with Candida commonly experience.
- Carbohydrate-digesting enzymes that allow the body to break down carbohydrates that have been consumed much more efficiently, reducing any symptoms like bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea. Nearly all people with a yeast infection have an impaired digestive system and poor carbohydrate tolerance, and when a Candida sufferer consumes the right enzymes, it makes it considerably more difficult for Candida to access their food source, increasing chances of a faster and less problematic recovery.
- Fat-digesting enzymes that improve the efficiency of the liver and gallbladder that also reduce the likelihood of digestive symptoms and discomfort.
The specialty and high quality enzymes in CanXida Restore allow the stomach and pancreas to work much more efficiently, ensuring that leaky gut syndrome will be able to heal more efficiently and in considerably less time. The outcome is a significant improvement in any digestive discomfort the candida patient may be experiencing, along with a more speedy recovery.
Systemic and Digestive Enzymes
Systemic enzymes in CanXida Restore are very important for another reason; they assist with the efficient removal of dead cells and yeast particles, debris, CICs (circulating immune complexes) and particles of bad bacteria from the body. This in turn helps to protect the body by reducing the symptoms produced any detox, “die-off” or Herxheimer like reactions caused by the release of Candida toxins or cellular fragments including any dead or dying yeast or bacterial cells.
Systemic enzymes are best taken away from food, and for this reason we recommend you take your second dose before bedtime. Note that the first dose of one capsule is taken in the morning (with or before) breakfast and that the second dose of one capsule is taken before bedtime for optimal results.
Why Capsugel® Was Chosen For CanXida Restore
Many encapsulated probiotic dietary supplements become ineffective because their ingredients remain unprotected from the hostile environment of the upper digestive system. Protecting the highest quality ingredients in a capsule from stomach acid to maintain optimal potency is crucial, and budget products will often include complex enteric coatings, expensive packaging or the use of solvents that many discerning consumers simply find unacceptable. Other products that are considerably less effective than expertly formulated and encapsulated products (such as Three Lac) are simply packaged in ‘straws’ and contain a powdered mixture of prebiotics and probiotics. These products offer very little protection from the hostile environment of the upper digestive system.
Eric Bakker’s aim was to create the ultimate probiotic/enzymatic formula using not only the best ingredients he could find, but also using the most effective delivery method.
The Capsugel® capsule was chosen for CanXida Restore because:
- It is a 100 percent plant-based product
- It is bile and acid-resistant, protecting the enzymes and probiotics from the hostile environment of the upper digestive system.
- It is time-release, designed to release its contents in the middle and lower digestive system where you need it.
- Capsugel® has enhanced stability to protect the ingredients, ensuring maximum delivery of the highest quality ingredients.
CanXida Restore distinguishes itself from any other formula in the following 12 ways:
- It contains the most clinically effective and researched probiotics and enzymes that target Candida and SIBO.
- It contains the 6 best probiotic strains indicated for those with any kind of digestive problem, including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel syndrome (Crohns & U.colitis), food allergies, constipation, diarrhoea, gas, bloating, reflux and heartburn, auto-immune diseases, dysbiosis and SIBO.
- It contains premium probiotics.
- It contains Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1® is a special probiotic that is incredibly stable in its dormant state due to its unique and patented cryoprotection.
- Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 is the only probiotic known that has a patent for antibiotic resistance.
- It contains NO prebiotics, which have been proven to potentially aggravate those with a Candida yeast infection and/or SIBO. Dr. Bakker recommends that you consume the FOS and GOS foods to enhance the growth and stability of probiotics in the gut.
- It contains the 7 best enzymes indicated for dysbiosis, leaky gut, Candida and most digestive system disorders namely amylase, cellulase, glucoamylase, hemicellulose, invertase, protease and serrratiopeptidase.
- It contains powerful protease enzyme that helps to break down the cell wall structure of the Candida cell wall.
- It contains cellulase enzymes that enhances and complements the protease activity by breaking down the cellulose component of the cell wall.
- It contains a high-activity protease called serrapeptase, which helps to hydrolyze any undigested food matter trapped between the intestinal villi which can cause sluggish digestion, bloating and an increase in endotoxins. Systemic enzymes like serrapeptase create a healthier intestinal environment, improved digestion and absorption, improve leaky gut syndrome as well as facilitate stool motility and overall colon health.
- Using our enhanced delivery system, we chose Capsugel® capsule for CanXida Restore. Capsugel delivery ensures the capsule disintegrates in the small intestine, and not the stomach’s high acid (and probiotic killing) environment.
- Capsulgel delivers larger amounts of viable bacteria into the intestinal tract, where they colonize and flourish. Once in the intestine, the probiotics exit their spores, attach themselves to the mucosa, and begin to germinate, producing new colonies of friendly bacteria.
Why I Used These 6 Best Probiotic Strains In CanXida Restore
The following 12 criteria are vital in your selection of the highest quality and most efficacious probiotic supplements. Can you as a consumer confidently say “yes” to the following questions raised about the probiotics you are taking now? I can confidently say ‘yes’ to the following characteristics when it comes to the probiotics used in CanXida Restore.
- Are all the strains clinically effective?
- Are the strains gastric and bile salt stable?
- Do the strains have a very stable shelf life?
- Is the predominant probiotic species of human origin?
- Has the strains been documented to be clinically safe?
- Do your probiotic strains adhere to the intestinal mucosa?
- Have they been shown to produce anti-microbial compounds?
- Have there been extensive research published on these strains?
- Have the predominant strains shown to be resistant to antibiotics?
- Are there human trials conducted on the strains contained in the product?
- Is there a therapeutic amount of at least (≥ 109 CFU/dose) of probiotics in the formula?
- Are all the included strains effective against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms?
Why I Used These 7 Best Digestive and Systemic Enzymes
I discovered many years ago in my clinic that patients who lack sufficient digestive enzyme power were the patients who experienced the worst abdominal complaints, such as gas, bloating, abdominal pain and discomfort, indigestion, food allergies or hyper sensitivities, IBS and leaky bowel syndrome (intestinal permeability). The following signs and symptoms most associated with a weakened digestion include:
- Gas
- Bloating
- Burping
- Reflux
- GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease)
- A feeling of fullness after meals
- Cramping in the abdominal region
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Food allergies and food sensitivities
- Undigested particles in the stool
- Helicobacter pylori infection
- Fatigue
- Candida yeast infections
- SIBO
- IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)
- LGS (leaky gut syndrome or intestinal permeability)
I discovered that when I started giving specialized digestive enzymes to my Candida and SIBO patients who came to me with symptoms I’ve mentioned above, that they would in most all cases tell me how significantly better they felt. The use of digestive enzymes in clinical practice is to not only allow the person to more efficiently break down the foods they consume to their nutritional components, but to be able to assimilate the nutrients found locked inside these foods and also to be able to more easily excrete any wastes as well.
The other thing I noticed was that once I added digestive enzymes it also increased the patient’s recovery time and reduced any die-off effects significantly; and when an antifungal and digestive enzyme were both used at the same time the results were truly amazing. I now recommend that ALL my Candida and SIBO patients take an antifungal/antibacterial such as CanXida Remove in addition to an enzyme/probiotic blend such as CanXida Restore. The outcome will mean a faster and less troublesome recovery.

Systemic and Digestive Enzymes
CanXida restore is made up of 6 digestive enzymes and 1 systemic enzyme. The systemic enzyme in CanXida Restore is called serrratiopeptidase and was included for a very important for another reason; this enzyme assists with the efficient removal of dead cells and yeast particles, debris, CICs (circulating immune complexes) and particles of bad bacteria from the body. This in turn helps to protect the body by reducing the symptoms produced any detox, “die-off” or Herxheimer like reactions caused by the release of Candida toxins or cellular fragments including any dead or dying yeast or bacterial cells. Research has found it effective in biofilm eradication, a very important consideration for those with SIBO. If your enzyme formula does not contain it, you may be wasting your money.
Systemic enzymes such as serrratiopeptidase are best taken away from food, and for this reason we recommend you take your second dose before bedtime. Note that the first dose of one capsule is taken in the morning (with or before) breakfast and that the second dose of one capsule is taken before bedtime for optimal results.
CanXida Restore Dosage
The standard dose is two capsules daily, one capsule twice daily. For optimal long term results, take your first dose (one capsule) in the morning with breakfast and the second dose (one capsule) in the evening before bedtime away from foods.
The dose may be increased to 4 or more capsules twice a day to increase the Candida and SIBO cleansing benefits, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
NOTE
- CanXida Restore may be taken with food to function mainly as a probiotic; however, taking CanXida Restore on an empty stomach will enhance the systemic Candida cleansing effects of this product.
- For optimal results take in conjunction with CanXida Remove.
- For the very best result take CanXida products when following the Candida Crusher Program. Naturopathic physician Eric Bakker designed the CanXida range of products to complement the Candida Crusher Program after more than 27 years of clinical practice including treating more than 15,000 Candida patients.
